The Gambia National Disaster Management Agency today kick started it’s training on using drones and early warning system for pre and post-floods disaster management in The Gambia.
The main objective of the training is to contribute to poverty alleviation by reducing flood risk and vulnerabilities and increasing flood disaster resilience of the population.
Representatives from The National Disaster Management Agency IT Unit and M&E with other partners’ IT units as well from National Environment Agency, Gambia Bureau of Statistic, Ministry of Agriculture, Gambia Armed Forces, Office of The President and others were all gathered at Mansakonko Area Council ground in Lower River Region (LRR) to be trained on Drone Flying and Software Manipulation in The Gambia for 22 days.
The 22 day training will give participants an overview and understanding in developing their capacity and readiness of in deploying drones for disaster and climate risk assessment.
