Ebo Town residents call for help

Heavy  down pour rain have caused  flooded  in many households in Ebo-Town on Wednesday within the Kanifing Municipality.

According to residents in Ebo-Town many households and the streets were affected by the heavy floods.

Awa Badjie, a resident of Ebo-Town told The Voice that she and her family could not sleep in their house as water flooded within their room, kitchen and toilet.

“Since in the morning we are pouring water away, that all the beds are wet, we are unable to cook breakfast this morning due to the kitchen’s condition. We really suffer today; almost all the neighboring houses are facing the same problem,” she said.

She called on the government to put a proper drainage system, because the rain water from Serekunda, Churchill town all flood to Ebo town.

Jarra Touray, also a resident of Ebo-Town lamented that their compound is heavy affected by flood as water has enter in all the houses in the compound. According to her every rainy season they experienced flood in their compound, which affects them a lot.

Anna Jarju, said that: “‘Since morning I and my children don’t rest, we wake up and saw our rooms been occupied with water, we are inside the water, our furniture’s clothes are wet. ’’

She urged the Kanifing Municipal Council through the central government to help them better their situation.

Jabou Bahou, lamented that: “We didn’t sleep due to the flood, all the living and bed room were flooded with water our entire house was occupied with water”

Kebba Jammeh, also a resident of Ebo town explained that:  “I wake up 2:44am late hours, due to the heavy rain. I did not sleep with my family, because water gets inside our room, the furnitures and our clothes were wet, couldn’t even go to work today due to this problem.”

He urged the government to look for a way forward to assist the people of Ebo town.
